Obituary for Loretta S. Valitski (Syzdek)

Loretta S. Valitski, of Hellertown, entered eternal life on Sunday, December 8, 2013, while in the care of Westminster Village Nursing Home, Allentown. She was the beloved wife of William F. Valitski.

Born in Mahanoy City, Schuylkill County, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Helen (Kuchinsky) Syzdek. She was a 1960 graduate of Penn State University and worked as a researcher at Merck, Sharp & Dohme and then became a mother and homemaker. Later she was a bookkeeper at TopCon Corporation in Norristown. She was a member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary R. C. Church, Bethlehem (Upper Saucon Twp.), where, before her illness she was on the New Member Committee and various other social groups, as well as a collection counter along with her husband.

Survivors: husband, William; daughters, Lynne and her husband, James Finnegan of Lower Macungie Twp.; Elizabeth and her husband, Derek Root of Hagerstown, MD; sister, Sonia and her husband Stanley Dieter of Easton; and 4 grandchildren, William, Seamus, Anson and Jason.

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Friday, December 13, 2013 at Assumption BVM Church, 4101 Old Bethlehem Pike, Bethlehem 18015. Visitation on Thursday evening from 6-8 PM in the James Funeral Home, 527 Center Street, Bethlehem, and on Friday morning in Church from 9:30 AM until time of Mass.
