With profound sadness we announce the passing of Anna Arangio, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother on December 7, 2020. She died peacefully in her sleep at Gracedale Nursing Home. Anna was 92 years old. She was the daughter of Theodora and Theodore Smereczynsky of West Easton.
Mrs. Arangio attended Easton High School and was a member of the cheerleading team. After World War II she met Louis Arangio and they were married in 1950. Louie and Ann had a wonderful life together. Along with raising a family, they enjoyed dancing to big band music, spending time with their grandchildren, and traveling. Their favorite destination was Hawaii.
Mrs. Arangio was employed at the Dixie Cup Corporation for many years. She was a member of St. Jane Francis de Chantel Catholic Church. She was deeply religious and her faith provided comfort throughout her life.
Anna is preceded in death by her loving husband who died in 1993. She is survived by a son, Charles, and a daughter, Luanne, two grandsons and a great grand daughter who live in Hawaii, a son-in-law whom she adored and many nieces and nephews. After the restrictions of the pandemic are lifted, there will be a celebration of life for immediate family on Kailua Beach in Hawaii as per her final wishes and those of her grandsons.
The interment of her ashes alongside her husband will take place in a private service during the summer when we can all be safely together again. Should you wish to honor her memory, she requested donations be made to the Humane Society of the United States.
