Obituary for Carl L. Mancino

Carl L. Mancino, 81 of Palmer Twp., passed away suddenly on Saturday, Sep. 11, 2021. Born in Easton, he was the son of the late Antonio and Mary Jane (Petrignani) Mancino. Carl was proud of his service in the United States Coast Guard and was the owner of Imperial Coiffures Ltd. In Palmer Twp. He was also the owner of the former, Inn at Heyers Mill in Bushkill Twp. A staunch advocate in the LGBT community, he was a founding member of Fighting AIDS Continuously Together (FACT), (an all volunteer organization) and served on their board continuously until his passing, including posts as president for several terms and chaired of many events. During Carl's time with the organization he was instrumental with FACT raising over 3 Million dollars of which Carl was very proud to be a part of. He was also very active in the local theater scene where you could find him acting, singing and dancing. Or even showing off his directing abilities. he was involved in productions with civic theater , Guthsville Playhouse, Pennsylvania Playhouse, and countless other theater companies. Carl was also one of the original 30 who danced on American Band Stand. Carl was also proud of his Italian heritage and was a parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua R. C. Church, Easton.

Survivors: He is survived by his son, Tony (former wife, Susan), his beloved grandchildren, Catherine and Carl J. (fiancé, Megan Hahn) Mancino, sister, Elizabeth Curto, dear friend, William Santiago, his former wife, Darlyne and many nieces, nephews and relatives. He was also preceded in death by his companion of 19 years, Norberto F. Melendez, and brother, Alex Mancino.

Services: relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Friday from 6-8:00 PM followed by a sharing of memories at 8:00 PM in the JAMES FUNERAL HOME 527 Center St., Bethlehem and on Saturday from 10:30-11:15AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 11:30AM all in St. Anthony of Padua R.C.
