Obituary for Carol Jean Smith (Mylo)

Carol Jean Smith, 74, of Catasauqua, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 23, 2021. She was the beloved wife of William "Bill" R. Smith with whom she shared 52 years of marriage. Born in New York City, she was a daughter of the late James Leo and Mary Louise (Bunton) Mylo. She worked for many years in the Foundation Office and later the Human Diversity Office of Kutztown University, retiring in 2008. Carol enjoyed many things and especially scrap-booking. In her early years she was active in the Salvation Army attaining the rank of Captain in the Greater New York Division.

Survivors: In addition to her husband, Bill, she is survived by her children, Steven E. Smith of Catasauqua, William R. Smith II (wife, Amy) of Allentown, Jaime Lynn Smith (partner, Tom) of Catasauqua; sister, KathieLu Smith of Willow Grove; and 4 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Janet L. Petrone and 1 grandchild.

Services: Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Tuesday, Dec. 28th from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. , followed by a funeral service at 7:00 P.M. all in the JAMES FUNERAL HOME, 527 Center St. Bethlehem. A further celebration of Carol Jean's life is being planned for later.

Contributions: In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Salvation Army, 521 Pembroke Rd., Bethlehem 18018, would be appreciated.

Covid-19 Precautions: Out of concern for the safety of all, and due to the increase in COVID-19 Infections, masks are required in the funeral home. Thank you for your understanding.
