Obituary for Caron Lee Degelmann

Print
On a Sunday afternoon, June 26th, 2022, Caron Lee Degelmann departed this world to the great unknown at the age of 60. Caron, diagnosed with diabetes and hyper-tension in 2004, had much difficulty adjusting her lifestyle to the dietary constraints of these conditions. She much enjoyed the consumption of good food and drink. She ultimately decided, to the dismay of her children, to ignore these heath conditions. She proceeded to live out her life as she wanted, overworking her body as it struggled to keep up. She was admitted to the hospital in June of 2021 and then to a skilled nursing facility as her organs begun to fail. Finally, on June 22nd, 2022, hospice care began helping to make her as comfortable as possible while her body shut down.

Proceeded in death by her first grandchild, Kaleb, her father, Clinton Joe, and former spouse, James, her spirit is carried on by her mother, Satsu, her daughters, Amber, Tiffany, and Christina, and her grandchildren, Abriyanna, Aushia, Nathaniel, Aaliyah, and Emeriyah.

Caron was born in South Korea in September of 1961 and shortly thereafter she was adopted by Clinton Joe and Satsu. She grew up living an audacious and adventurous life under the Southern Californian sun. As a child, raised in privilege, she grew up experimenting with life. The adventures she had touched the lives of many. She was married to James Degelmann Jr. for 10 years. Before their amicable divorce, from of their love, they birthed three daughters.

Those who had the privilege to know her, knew Caron as one of the wisest and most caring people. She was known for her infections laugh, intuitive intellect, and vast compassion. She enjoyed listening to music, wood-working, and playing video games. She had an unquenchable thirst for knowledge which she was happy to impart on anyone willing to listen. Her journey for self-actualization was long and tumultuous, despite her innate ability to have all the answers, she always seemed to struggle with practicing what she preached.

Cremation took place on June 28th, 2022. Instead of a traditional memorial service, her daughters invite friends and loved ones to join in honoring Caron's life and memory, individually together, on Sunday, July 10th, 2022 at 7 PM EST. Everyone can participate by doing something at the same time. At this date and time, wherever you are in the world, please take a moment to remember the good times shared with Caron.
