Obituary for George Marion Kunsman Sr.

George M. Kunsman Sr., 90, passed away peacefully at St. Luke’s Fountain Hill on Monday, December 21, 2020. Born in Easton Pa, he was a son of the late William O. Kunsman and Alice A. Nisky Kunsman. He was preceeded in death by his parents, a brother Charles Kunsman, and his beloved wife Ruth A. Kunsman, to whom he was married for 66 years.

Mr. Kunsman graduated from Easton High School in 1947 and enlisted in the US Air Force where he served from 1949 through 1952, earning several medals during the Korean War including a Purple Heart. He was a member of the US Air Force Museum Foundation in Dayton, Ohio. Mr. Kunsman retired from Weinstein Supply Corp of Allentown, and he and his wife were former owners of Kunsman Ceramics in Stewartsville, NJ.

George is survived by daughters Ruthe M. Gobbi (David) of Harrisburg NC, Diane L. Matthews (Larry), of Palmer Township Pa, and son George M. Kunsman, Jr (Gayle, companion) of Easton Pa.; sisters Joyce Smith of Easton Pa, and Rebecca Kelly of Arizona, as well as former daughter-in-law Judy Kunsman of Easton Pa.

George’s 6 grandchildren are Neil Gobbi, (Lovella); Michelle Gobbi, Andrea Young, (Jason); Brian Ketchledge, (Kristin); Jaymee-Lee Lister, (Michael); Jordyn Kunsman and 8 great grandchildren.

A private cremation service will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are entrusted to the JAMES FUNERAL HOME, Bethlehem.

Contributions in memory of George may be made to the charity of your choice.
