Isabel Cardona-Cifuentes, 87, of Hellertown, gained her angel wings June 4th, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. Isabel was born in Anserma, Caldas, Colombia on October 24th, 1934. Daughter of the late Mercedes Rosa Cifuentes and Jose De Jesus Cardona. Her nine siblings are Maria Teresa, Nohemi, Fermin Antonio, William, Pedro Pablo, Orfa, Ofelia, Soledad, and Maria Rubiela. She was the mother of five: Jorge Eduardo, Gilma Ivonne, Gustavo Adolfo, Arturo Enrique, and Martha Soledad; children she had with her only love Juan Jose Torres. She enjoyed the blessing of having 25 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren whom she loved very dearly and who gave her much happiness. She was lovingly called “Chavis” by her family and friends.

She was a strong wonderful woman with a devout faith; a loving, brave, and witty daughter, mom, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt. There was nothing she would enjoy more than an afternoon gathered with her family playing parcheesi and listening to tango music. She was very charismatic, known for her unconditional love, great sense of humor, patience and loyalty, dedication to her children, and her persistence in navigating through life’s issues without complaining. She was a great teacher and pioneer for the whole family.

Isabel respected her children’s lives and valued those who joined the family. She gave much love, support and help in raising her grandkids. She was sassy in the cutest way and had the most inspiring fighting spirit. She dedicated herself to raise her children with strong values. She was a hard-working woman, noble, committed to her home, humble and simple but with strong character; always used to speaking the truth directly, she was very honest and honorable.

She always demonstrated great strength and was an example to her family, showing them the value and importance of hard work. She planted a lot of fruitful seeds on this earth and lived to see many of them bloom. Those who had the pleasure of knowing Isabel will remember her for being nurturing, and for loving her family above everything else. She was loved by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Chavis will be greatly missed and celebrated now that she has been greeted in heaven by angels.

Isabel Cardona-Cifuentes, de 87 años, de Hellertown, obtuvo sus alas de ángel el 4 de junio de 2022, rodeada de su amada familia. Isabel nació en Anserma, Caldas, Colombia el 24 de octubre de 1934. Hija de la fallecida Mercedes Rosa Cifuentes y José De Jesús Cardona. Sus nueve hermanos son María Teresa, Nohemí, Fermín Antonio, William, Pedro Pablo, Orfa, Ofelia, Soledad y María Rubiela. Fue madre de cinco hijos: Jorge Eduardo, Gilma Ivonne, Gustavo Adolfo, Arturo Enrique y Martha Soledad; hijos que tuvo con su único amor Juan José Torres. Disfrutó de la bendición de tener 25 nietos y 34 bisnietos a los que amaba mucho y quienes le daban mucha felicidad. Su familia y amigos la llamaban cariñosamente “Chavis”.

Era una mujer fuerte y maravillosa con una fe devota; una hija, madre, abuela, bisabuela, hermana y tía amorosa, valiente e ingeniosa. No había nada que disfrutara más que una tarde reunida con su familia jugando parqués y escuchando música de tango. Era muy carismática, conocida por su amor incondicional, gran sentido del humor, paciencia y lealtad, dedicación a sus hijos y su persistencia en navegar los problemas de la vida sin quejarse. Fue una gran maestra y pionera para toda la familia.

Isabel respetaba la vida de sus hijos y valoraba a los que se unían a la familia. Ella dio mucho amor, apoyo y ayuda en la crianza de sus nietos. Era atrevida de la manera más linda y tenía el espíritu de lucha más inspirador. Se dedicó a criar a sus hijos con fuertes valores. Fue una mujer trabajadora, noble, comprometida con su hogar, humilde y sencilla, pero de fuerte carácter; siempre acostumbrada a decir la verdad directamente, era muy honesta y honorable.

Siempre demostró una gran fortaleza y fue un ejemplo para su familia, mostrándoles el valor y la importancia del trabajo duro. Ella plantó muchas semillas fructíferas en esta tierra y vivió para ver florecer muchas de ellas. Quienes tuvieron el placer de conocer a Isabel la recordarán por ser cariñosa y por amar a su familia por encima de todo. Fue amada por sus hijos, nietos y bisnietos. Chavis será extrañada y celebrada ahora que ha sido recibida en el cielo por ángeles.

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 9th at 1030 A.M. in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Allentown. Burial of cremated remains will take place at Parque Memorial Jardines de Santa Isabel in Tunja Boyaca, Colombia.
