Mary C. Elliott, 71, of Hellertown, entered eternal life on Jan. 25, 2021, while in the care of Lehigh Valley Hospital Oncology Unit and surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of Deacon Donald W. Elliott, with whom she shared 46 years of marriage. Born in Northampton, she was a daughter of the late John and Veronica (Sedlock) Galm. She was a 1967 graduate of Catasauqua H.S. She worked in sheet sales at Bethlehem Steel for 15 years and later became the Secretary of Holy Ghost R. C. Church, Bethlehem, where she was a former CCD teacher and Director of Religious Education for 15 years before retiring to become a professional grandmother for her grandchildren. Mary was a parishioner of Assumption BVM Catholic Church in Bethlehem, where she was active as a Lector, Eucharistic Minister, Welcome Committee , Little Peoples Church, ran the annual Easter egg hunt and visit with Santa for the children of the parish and many other parish committees. She was also a volunteer for St. Luke's Hospice both at their office and at The Hospice House for over 20 years. She also enjoyed volunteering at DeSales University for the Shakespeare Festival, as well as other events. Mary loved to bake and do needle point and many family members, friends and parishioners enjoyed the fruits of her labors. She will be missed by all whose lives she touched.

Survivors: In addition to her husband Don, she is survived by her daughter, Katherine Walsh (Timothy) of Bethlehem; son, Stephen Elliott (Elizabeth) of Hellertown; brothers, John Galm (Deb), Jerome Galm (Sue); sisters, Veronica Galm; Teresa Dalrymple (Larry), sister in law, DiAne and 4 grandchildren, Joseph, Ryan, Andrew Walsh and Lily Elliott. She was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Galm.

Services: Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. from the JAMES FUNERAL HOME, 527 Center St., Bethlehem followed by a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday morning at 11 A.M. in Assumption BVM Church, 4101 Old Bethlehem Pike, Bethlehem (Upper Saucon Twp). Burial will follow in Hellertown Union Cemetery. Please Note that the Mass in the Church will be limited to immediate family, however the mass will also be live streamed to the Hanlon Center where friends may participate once the church reaches safe capacity. Funeral home staff will assist you with directions. It will also be livestreamed to the Assumption BVM Church Facebook Page. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Church or to St. Luke's Hospice, 240 Union Station Plaza, 1st Fl., Bethlehem PA 18015.

The Elliott family would to thank the Doctors and Nursing Staff at Lehigh Valley Hospital and especially Dr. Suresh G. Nair, MD, for all they did to try and help Mary through her illness and most recent hospital stay. They would also like to thank everyone from their community, and also their parish family at Assumption BVM and Holy Ghost for their prayers, love and support during this difficult time. Your kindness has been a blessing.
