Obituary for Michael Barron

Print
Michael Barron, 53, of Bath, passed away peacefully in his home on March 26, 2022 with his family by his side. He was the former husband of Joy Barron. Born in Johnstown, he was a son of the late William and Marcia (Robertson) Barron and stepson of Regina Winsko-Barron. He worked for over 25 years as a diesel mechanic and most recently worked for Grace Industries Inc. before leaving due to illness. He was a former parishioner of Notre Dame of Bethlehem R. C. Church.

Mike, as friends called him, or Dad, as his children did, fought so hard to the last minute, that it would be wrong to say he lost his battle. He was determined to stay with his children/ family at home, and showed unbelievable resilience and perseverance that his children will carry with them for years to come. He showed us and all those around him what strength really is. Though he can no longer wrap us with his hugs or warm us with his contagious smile, he remains forever in our hearts.

Mike was an admirable person. Always filled with love and compassion for life. As a youth his siblings can remember his love for playing with Tonka trucks; to a point of sneaking sand in the house and playing on the kitchen floor with them. After graduation from high school at Norte Dame High in Bethlehem, Mike went on to pursue a trade in auto mechanics. Becoming a mechanic was something his father taught him. This trade would be his lifelong career. His final job was with Grace Industries Inc., a job he was so proud of; so much that he was able to pass on his trade to his two sons who also work for Grace Industries.

The memories of Mike will always be cherished and passed on as his legacy by his three children Gregory, Matthew, and Hope. His love for mountain biking with his son’s, vacationing with his family at the beach or just spending time with his daughter. Michael would light up when he spoke of his children. Listening to classical music was a hidden enjoyment of his as well as his love for shoes.

After he was hospitalized, and short fight with cancer Mike lived life well.
