Michael J. Baran, 69, of Bethlehem, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 8, 2022, in the home of his best friend and former wife, Laureen Schellinkhout. Born in Bethlehem he was a son of the late, Edward and Eva Baran. He was the IT Vice Pres. at Nazareth National Bank 35 years before retiring. A true people person, Mike loved bar tending at the 540 Democratic Club of Bethlehem, where he worked 18 years and a member there for many more.He was also a member of the North End Wanderers and a former member of the Hecktown Volunteer Fire Company.
Survivors: In addition to his wife, Laureen, he is survived by a daughter, Claire Baran, stepchildren, Jordan, Seth and Ian Schellinkhout; a brother, Joseph M. Baran, sister, Beverly A Baran and nephew, Jody Baran and his family. He was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Baran.
Services: Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Wednesday, Jan. 19th from 10-11:00 A.M. followed by a memorial service at 11:00 A.M. in the JAMES FUNERAL HOME, 527 Center St., Bethlehem. Masks or face coverings will be required in the funeral home.
Contributions: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 3893 Adler Place, Ste. 170, Bethlehem, PA 18017 or www.cancer.org
