Obituary for Rocco Laraia

Rocco Laraia, 71, formerly of New York City and Hackettstown, NJ, entered eternal life peacefully on Sunday, November 10, 2019, while being cared for in his home in Palmer Twp. He was the beloved husband of Theresa (Streppone) Laraia, with whom he shared 49 years of marriage. Born in New York City, he was a son of the late Frank and Christine (Nero) Laraia. He served in the U. S. Army during Vietnam and later began a career with New York Life Insurance Company, working over 40 years as an IT Specialist, before retiring in 2012. He was a parishioner of St. Jane Frances De Chantal R. C. Church in Palmer Twp. and also attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help R. C. Church in Bethlehem.

Survivors: In addition to his wife, Theresa, he is survived by a daughter, Tina Lyden (Keith) of Bethlehem Twp.; son, Frank Laraia of Palmer Twp.; brother, Peter Laraia (Nancianne) of Forks Twp.; 4 grandchildren, Madison, Anthony, Nicholas, Matthew; niece, Lindsey; nephew, Nicholas; uncle, Peter Nero (Franca) and many cousins.

Services: Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Saturday, November 23rd, from 10-11:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M. all at Our Lady of Perpetual Help R. C. Church, 3219 Santee Road Bethlehem, Pennsylvania 18017. Interment will take place later at the convenience of the family. Arrangements Entrusted to JAMES FUNERAL HOME, 527 Center St., Bethlehem 18018.

Contributions: In lieu of flowers contributions in Memory of Rocco, may be made to St. Luke's Hospice, or the American Cancer Society C/O James Funeral Home.
