Obituary for W. Bruce Weaver

W. Bruce Weaver, 85, of Bethlehem passed away on Friday, July 1, 2022. He was the husband of Jo A. (Evans) Weaver and they would have shared 63 years of marriage on July 3, 2022. Born in Allentown, Pa on November 26, 1936, he was the son of the late Wilbur M. and Marguerite V. (Warg) Weaver.
Bruce graduated from Liberty High School (Class of 1954), attended Lehigh University, and graduated from Mitchell College (Class of 1958) in New London, Connecticut.
After retiring from Bethlehem Steel Corporation in the real estate department as an engineer-surveyor, he helped Memorial Park and Nisky Hill Cemeteries in the same capacity.
He was an avid trout fisherman and rabbit hunter, belonging to the Dream Mile Club and Bunker Hill Beagle Club. He was past president of both the Monocacy and Spring Garden Elementary Schools PTA’s.
Playing softball for the church, city, and Palmer Township leagues was his passion. He also helped coach Salem Lutheran in the YMCA church basketball league.
He was a lifelong member of the former Salem Lutheran Church, Bethlehem, and a current member of Star of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

Survivors: his loving wife, Jo; children Terri A. Long (Michael) of Bethlehem Township, James D. Weaver (Amanda) of Hellertown, and Nanci M. Weaver (Steve Thompson) of Beverly Hills, California. Grandchildren; Meghan Gaur (Agosh), Douglas Long (Shelley), Tyler Long (Kelsey), Jake Weaver-Thompson, and Sarah Weaver. Great-Grandchildren; Hallie, Maisie, Clara, Roshan, Callen and Maya. Step - Grandchildren; Emily and Morgen Schoenenberger.

Services: Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Saturday, July 9th from 3:00-4:00 P.M. followed by a Memorial Service at 4:00 P.M. all in the JAMES FUNERAL HOME 527 Center St., Bethlehem.
