Obituary

Arthur James Mack, 84, of Bethlehem, PA passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, in his home surrounded by his loving family. His family feels grateful and blessed to have shared their love and appreciation for him in his final days.

Arthur was born on April 28, 1938 at Palmerton Hospital, son of Stewart and Esther (Kern) Mack. He was the loving husband of Priscilla (Biege) Mack with whom he just shared their 60th wedding anniversary together on September 8, 2022.

Arthur attended Muhlenberg College where he obtained his bachelor's degree in Psychology. He also attended Lehigh University where he received his master's degree in Guidance and Counseling. After graduating, he assumed the position of clinical psychologist at Allentown State Hospital and worked there for 5 years. After leaving the Allentown State Hospital, he was employed at LARC for 25 years as the Assistant Executive Director. During this time he also ran his own private practice. He then accepted the position as Executive Director at QUEST in Lebanon, PA where he worked for 13 years prior to retirement.

Arthur was an HO train enthusiast. He enjoyed working on his extensive train layout that he built in the basement. He was a Member of Slatington Lodge F & AM and received his fifty-year masonic service emblem. Some of his favorite hobbies were going to auctions and collecting antiques with his wife, Priscilla. He enjoyed attending every sporting event for his grandchildren, and he was an avid Dallas Cowboys and Penn State fan. Most importantly, his favorite past time was spending quality time with his wife and family. His infectious positivity and selflessness will live on through his wife, daughters and grandchildren.

Survivors: Arthur was a devoted husband, loving father and an extremely proud Grandad. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 60 years, Priscilla; two daughters, Stephanie Snyder and husband Scott, Amy Gubich and husband Ed; grandchildren, Gabriella, Alyssa, Charissa, Natalie and Cameron; step grandchildren, Brandon, Harmony and Joscelyn; and step great grandson, Leo.

Services: Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Saturday, November 26, 2022 from 10:00-11:00 AM followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 AM all in the East Hill Moravian Church, 1830 Butztown Rd., Bethlehem. Arrangements are entrusted to James Funeral Home, Bethlehem.
