Charles W. Emery Jr., 79, of Freemansburg, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at St. Luke's Hospital Anderson Campus. Born in Lock Haven PA, he was a son of the late Charles W. Sr. and Geraldine "Greta" (Glace) Emery. He served in the U. S. Army during Vietnam and later attended 2 years of college before accepting a job in the maintenance department of the U.S. Postal Service, where he worked for over 25 years. He then worked for the Bethlehem Area School District as a Bus Driver for 10 years before retiring. He was a member of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church, Bethlehem. He was an avid traveler and took many bus trips in the US and enjoyed traveling to Europe including trips to Austria and to Normandy. He enjoyed hunting and also sang in the Macungie Choir earlier in his life. Since retirement he enjoyed going to the Wednesday and Thursday Breakfast Crew meetings with the School Bus drivers and the retired Postal Employees at the Palace Restaurant in Bethlehem.
Survivors: He is survived by his niece, Marsha Fritz and 3 nephews, Brian Gamber, David Gamber, Jason Cassel; and a brother-in-law, Larry Cassel. He was also preceded in death by a sisters, Bonnie Cassel and Carolyn Gamber.
Services are private and at the convenience of the family. Entombment of cremated remains will be at Ft. Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville PA. Arrangements Entrusted to JAMES FUNERAL HOME, Bethlehem.
