David Edward Dlugose

Major David “Dave” Edward Dlugose, 81, of Northampton, passed away peacefully in Lehigh Valley Hospice – Muhlenberg Campus on Thursday, September 24, 2026. He was the beloved husband of Major Jean (Farina) Dlugose, with whom he shared 59 years of marriage. Born in Niagara Falls New York, he was a son of the late Leo and Jewel (Lance) Butler. David was an officer with The Salvation Army for over 43 years serving in Salvation Army Missions in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. He was also most recently active in The Salvation Army in Bethlehem. Dave’s life’s mission was to share the love of Jesus Christ with all who would listen to him.

Survivors: In addition to his wife, Jean, he is survived by his son, David “Dave” Dlugose and his wife, Joyce; daughter, Susan E. Dlugose; brother, Daniel Dlugose and his wife, Carol; sister in law, Dianne Walker; 6 grandchildren, Kayla, Adam, James, Jessica, Paige, Jacob; and 7 great grandchildren, Maricella, Amiyah, Camren, Amari, Jaylen, Jahmaleel, Julian and many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Services: Private graveside services will take place on Saturday, at Kensico Cemetery in Valhalla, NY. A public memorial service is planned for Saturday, October 17, 2026 at 11:00AM at the Salvation Army, 521 Pembroke Rd., Bethlehem PA 18017 with a reception to take place following the service.
