David M. Ruberry died on June 7, 2026, at St. Like's Hospice after being admitted to St. Luke's Hospital a week earlier. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Bethlehem. David was born in Paterson New Jersey to William J. Ruberry and Agnes Boyle Ruberry on January 19, 1955. He was predeceased by his parents and brother William J. Ruberry III, CMSGT, USAF.
He graduated from Hackettstown High School New Jersey in 1972 and attended Farleigh Dickenson University in Rutherford NJ before taking a position with the State of Pennsylvania, Department of Public Welfare, and then Bethlehem Steel in plant security and fire rescue from 1980 to 1989. He received his A.A. degree in Public Safety and Fire Protection from Northampton Community College in 1987.
In 1989 David moved to Bethlehem and took a full-time position with air rescue operations at Lehigh Valley Hospital. That year he began working part time for the Northampton County Sheriff's Department before becoming a Deputy Sheriff and eventually being promoted to Sergeant in 2005. After leaving the Sheriff's Department he worked for Lehigh University for several years.
Survivors: He is survived by two cousins, Edward G. Allan of Charlotte NC, Raymond J. Fluor of Barnegat, NJ, a nephew Scott Ruberry of Rio Rancho NM, and several 2d cousins particularly Robert J. Allan of Montgomery Alabama whom he was especially close to for many years.
Services: Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Wednesday July 1, 2026 from 9:00 to 10:00 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM all at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 3221 Santee Rd., Bethlehem, PA 18020. Entombment of cremated remains will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to JAMES FUNERAL HOME, Bethlehem.
