Elaine Neiser Gable died peacefully on December 9, 2022. Born in Bethlehem in 1927, she was the youngest child of Charles and Maggie (Reichard) Neiser. She is pre-deceased by all of her siblings - Miles Cressman; Ruth Gemberling; Charlie, Norman, Paul, and Mark Neiser; and Helen Guest.
A 1945 graduate of Liberty High School, Elaine was married to Elmer "Bud" Gable in 1948. She first caught his eye as a teenager at the Ebenezer Bible Fellowship Church (then Mennonite) where both of their families were members, but fell in love only after he returned from service in WWII.
Initially settling in Fountain Hill, they relocated to Hecktown in Lower Nazareth in 1955 to raise their growing family. Bud established a building supply company, and later a housing development and construction business there.
Elaine was a kind and caring woman of deep faith. She was an active member of First Presbyterian Church of Bethlehem since the early 1960s, serving as a deacon and supporting programs for seniors. She enjoyed the company of her many close friends at the church, reveled in the companionship of dogs, and welcomed birds to her backyard feeders.
Survivors: Elaine is survived by her four children: Edward (Ruth, d. 2018), grandson Mark (Alexis), great-grandson Dustin - all of Lower Nazareth; Evan of Martin's Creek; Elizabeth "Becky" Price (Rick) of Berkeley CA, grandchildren Jake and Nina of San Francisco; and Eric (Linda) of Bethlehem Township, grandchildren Allison of Portland ME, and John.
After Bud retired they moved to Macada Rd in Bethlehem Township. Elaine was widowed in 1992 when Bud died tragically after an ultralight plane crash. Elaine never remarried but moved back to Lower Nazareth to enjoy the company of her sons.
She spent her final years happily at Country Meadows Bethlehem. The family wishes to thank the staff there and the wonderful people at Lifesong Hospice for their loving care.
Services: Per her sincere wishes, there will be no services.
