Francis R. P. Dougherty, 90, of Bethlehem and a resident of Sterling Heights-Hanover Twp., passed away on Saturday evening, February 11, 2023 in St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill. He was the beloved husband of the late Christine (Dalton) Dougherty with whom he shared 68 years of marriage before her passing on January 6, 2019. Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late Robert and Beatrice (Kelly) Dougherty. He worked at Bethlehem Steel for many years before retiring and also volunteered many years in the Athletic Department at Lehigh University. He was a proud Irishman and loved time spent with his children and grandchildren. He was a parishioner of Notre Dame of Bethlehem R. C. Church.

Survivors: He is survived by his Son, Francis P. Dougherty (Christina) of Kingsville MD; daughter, Mary C. Lewallen (Ted) of Olympia WA; sister, Kathleen Renn; 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a son, Joseph D. Dougherty and a brother, Jack Dougherty.

Services: Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 from 10-10:55AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00AM all from Notre Dame of Bethlehem R. C. Church, 1861 Catasauqua Rd., Bethlehem, PA 18018. Burial will be in Holy Saviour Cemetery. Arrangements by JAMES FUNERAL HOME, Bethlehem.
