Obituary

Francis Xavier Lynch, 84, of Philadelphia, entered eternal life peacefully on Thursday, April 28, 2016. Formerly of the Chestnut Hill section of Philadelphia, he had been living in the Philadelphia Veterans Community Living Center. He was the beloved husband of the late Lydia (nee Hirst) Lynch, who passed away in 1979. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (nee McFillan) Lynch. He was a Navy Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. Later he worked as a social worker for many years until retiring. He was of the Roman Catholic faith.

Survivors: He is survived by his daughters, Lydia Labat and her husband Jules of Easton and Kathryn Lynch and her husband Peter Moore of New York; grandchildren, Graham Moore, Elizabeth Moore and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, a brother, Joseph Lynch and sister, Marie Nangele.

Services: Graveside Service with Rite of Committal will take on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at 11:30 a.m., in Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Rd., Newtown, PA 18940 (Cross Streets: Near the intersection of Highland Rd and Washington Crossing Rd.). Full Military Honors will be bestowed following the Rite of Committal. Arrangements are entrusted to the JAMES FUNERAL HOME, Bethlehem, PA.
