Gary Lee Horner, 77, of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, died of kidney failure on February 22, 2026. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland, to Verna and Donald Horner, a homemaker and cameraman, respectively.
After serving in the Army during the Vietnam War, Gary returned home and began a career in sales and marketing at B. Braun Medical. He invented several important medical devices and eventually ascended to the position of Vice President of International Sales and Marketing.
Gary loved to drive motorcycles and fly ultralight aircrafts. In one of his most memorable adventures, he journeyed from Florida to Pennsylvania in a sleek ultralight called a Titan Tornado. The trip lasted several days, and at night he slept under the wing in a sleeping bag. The plane's brakes didn't work so upon landing he had to steer into the tall grass to slow it down. This was the kind of nerve-wracking, near-disaster that most people hated but Gary loved. He was a fearless flyer in all types of weather.
Survivors: Gary is survived by his wife, Wendy Horner, his children, Anya, Scott, and Eric, and his sister, Carol.
Services: A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 6, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Grace Church Bethlehem, 4301 Hecktown Rd., Bethlehem, PA 18020. Arrangements entrusted to JAMES FUNERAL HOME, Bethlehem.
