Gary A. Piatt, 73, of Salisbury Township, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Janet M. (Chopel) Piatt and together they had celebrated 46 years of marriage.
Born in Bethlehem, Gary was the son of the late Arthur T. Piatt and the late Shirley J. (Wismer) Piatt. He graduated from Freedom High School in 1971. Gary also graduated from Penn State University, where he earned a degree in meteorology and was in the marching band. In December of 1982, he graduated from Moravian Theological Seminary. He was then called to his first church at St. Steven's UCC in Perksie and served for 3 years. He was then called to the former Salem UCC of Allentown, where he served for 8 years. He then served at Jerusalem Western Salisbury UCC, where he retired after serving 14 years. After retirement, he found the job of his dreams by writing production music for film and TV, which he continued to do up until his death. He enjoyed traveling and watching sports, cooking and of course music. But most of all enjoyed being around family and especially his grandchildren.
Survivors: In addition to his loving wife Janet, are his daughters, Jennifer wife of Randy Jandrisevitz of South Carolina, Tanya wife of James Golden of Texas, son, Aaron and his wife Asia of Easton; six grandchildren and one great granddaughter. He is also survived by his sisters, Bonny wife of Raymond Campbell of Lower Saucon Twp. and Sheree Piatt of Bethlehem.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. The JAMES FUNERAL HOME of Bethlehem has been entrusted with the arrangements.
