Gerrit M. DeWit, 76, of Bethlehem, passed away at his home on February 10, 2026. Born in Allentown on February 16, 1949, he was a son of the late Gerrit J. and Burdine DeWit. Gerry graduated from Middletown High School in New Jersey, after which he served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam era. He later worked as a manager in the tire and forklift industry. His love for rock music, overshadowed his life as he played bass guitar in numerous NJ and PA bands over the years. He also loved and rooted for his Mets and Raiders Teams, Win or Lose.

Survivors: Gerry is survived by his wife Kerry, his 2 sons, Brian and Jason (Shazia); 3 grandchildren, Kendall, Lila and Reilly DeWit.

Services: As per Gerry's wishes, no services will be held, but an informal celebration of his life will be held at a later time. Arrangement are entrusted to JAMES FUNERAL HOME, Bethlehem.
