John Demeter, 88, of Bethlehem, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at Riverton Nursing and Rehab Center, East Allentown. He was the beloved husband of the late Dolores (Dean) Demeter with whom he shared 66 years of marriage before her passing in February of this year. Born in Pottstown, he was a son of the late John and Anna (Shandor) Demeter. He worked as a manager for the former Two Guys for several years and then for UPS as a package handler for many years until retiring in 1999. He was a parishioner of Ss. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Bethlehem.
Survivors:He is survived by his children, Deborah Csorba and her husband Nick, Gregory A. Demeter, John M. Demeter, Brian S. Demeter; brother, Michael Demeter; 5 Grandchildren, 7 Great Grandchildren and neices and nephews. He was preceded in death by brother a Stephen and sisters, Julie, Helen, Kathryn, Dorothy, Mary, and Anna.
Services: Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the JAMES FUNERAL HOME 527 Center St., Bethlehem, followed by the Office of Christian Burial with Divine Liturgy at 11:00AM at Ss Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, 1140 Johnston Dr., Bethlehem. Burial will be at Bethlehem Memorial Park.
