John S. Ferrara Sr., 74, of Forks Township, passed away suddenly on Friday, October 10, 2026 at St. Luke’s Hospital – Anderson Campus. He was the beloved husband of Ellen (Robb) Ferrara with whom he shared 32 years of marriage. Born in Danbury CT and raised in the Episcopalian faith, he was the son of the late Robert J. and Elizabeth K. (Horan) Ferrara. John served 39 years in the U. S. Army Reserves retiring in 2012 as Lieutenant Colonel. He graduated from Stephen F. Austin University in 1980 and later received his Masters Degree from Madison University in Human Resources Management in 2004. John enjoyed sports both watching and coaching. He was a basketball, baseball and softball coach for many years, but most of all, he enjoyed time with his family.
Survivors: In addition to his wife, Ellen, he is survived by his son, Andrew Ferrara (Nicole); daughters, Sarah Ferrara, Rebekah Rutledge (Derrick), Rachael Ferrara (Mark Goldfinger); step daughters, Jean Savard, Cheryl Nemec (Andrew), Wendy Savard, and 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, John Ferrara Jr.
Services: A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 24th at 11AM at Christ United Methodist Church, 400 W. Berwick Street, Easton. Arrangements entrusted to JAMES FUNERAL HOME, Bethlehem.
Contributions: In lieu of flowers contributions to the CUMC Warming Center in memory of John, C/O Christ United Methodist Church, 400 W. Berwick Street, Easton 18042, would be appreciated.
