Jose A. Mercado, 71, of Fountain Hill, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on Friday, January 28, 2022. Born in Queens NY, he was a son of the late Florencio and Angela (Ortiz) Mercado. Jose served in the U.S. Navy and later worked for the U. S. Postal Service for over 34 years retiring in 2005.

Survivors: He is survived by his daughters, Teresa Mercado of Bronx NY, Amanda Mercado of Fountain Hill, Monique Mercado of Bronx NY; sisters, Aida Mercado-Levy, Margarita Mercado Matos, Martha Colon; grandchildren, Brittany King, Cesar Medina, Joseph Mercado, Nikolas Mercado, Aiden Hanecak, Abigail Albarran, Logan Mendez; great grandchildren, Abel Medina and Elyjah Jose Medina.

Services: Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Friday, February 4th, from 6-7:00 P.M. followed by a Memorial Service at 7:00 P.M. all in the JAMES FUNERAL HOME, 527 Center St., Bethlehem. Masks or face coverings will be required in funeral home.
