Katherine "Kate" Sukla, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2026, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Muhlenberg. Born May 12, 1962, in Northern California, she was the daughter of the late John P. Lowney Jr. and Karen (Kirk) Lowney Carson.

Kate is survived by her brother and sister, John and Susanna; her three daughters, Susan, Jessica, and Julia; and her five grandchildren.

She worked at ShopRite for over 11 years, where she was known for her strong work ethic and kindness. Toward the end of her life, Kate continued to serve others as a devoted caregiver at Home Instead for 17 years, offering comfort and support to those in need. Caring for others was not just her work, it was who she was.

Kate had a deep love for animals and found great meaning in being an active member of her church community. Her gentle spirit, generous heart, and unwavering faith will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A service celebrating Kate's life will be held on Saturday, February 7th., at 10:00 a.m. at the Cathedral Church of the Nativity, at 321 Wyandotte Street, Bethlehem, PA 18015. She will be laid to rest in the Memorial Garden of the Cathedral following the service. Arrangements entrusted to JAMES FUNERAL HOME, Bethlehem.
