LaRue Mae Peifer, 90, of Allentown, passed away on Thursday, evening, July 20, 2023. She was the wife of the late Reuben Peifer. Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Stanley and Pearl (Berger) Kleckner. She was a graduate of Allen H.S. and worked as a secretary for over 20 years at Durkee Foods until retiring. She was an avid bowler and volunteered at Rittersville Fire Co. many years, where she started their Bingo fundraiser. She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, E. Allentown and attended Rosemont Lutheran Church, Bethlehem. Survivors: She is survived by her children, Larry Kirk (Sandra) of Bethlehem, Gary Kirk (Amal) of Allentown, Kathy Benjamin of Orefield; 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Patti Ann Kirk in 1957 and a sister, Jean Steele.Services: Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Tuesday July 25th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM in the JAMES FUNERAL HOME, 527 Center St. Bethlehem and on Wednesday July 26th from 10:00 to 10:30 AM followed by a funeral service at 10:30 AM all in Rosemont Lutheran Church, 1705 West Broad St., Bethlehem.
