Lenore Avin

Lenore Avin, 84, of Easton, passed away peacefully at approximately 4:20 AM on Saturday, July 25, 2026 surrounded by family at St. Luke’s Hospital – Anderson Campus. She was the beloved spouse of Sara “Micki” M. Katz, with whom she shared 21 years together and married for 12 years.

Born in Brooklyn-New York she was a daughter of the late Samuel Kronstein and Sylvia (Aslan) Avin. After receiving her AAS degree in New York, and she began her working life working many varied jobs, but most notably as executive assistant for AETNA Insurance Company before retiring. She also enjoyed photography, which became as a second career.

Lenore, enjoyed life and liked to be around people. Although in more recent years she had her health difficulties, she didn’t let them get her down and did her best to live. May her memory be a blessing.

Survivors: In addition to her spouse, “Micki,” she is survived by a brother, Edward Avin; sister, Nanette Johns; sister in law, Jo Avin; nieces, Gina Gaita (Rob), Sara Avin; nephews, Josh Avin (Kira), Larry Avin (Katie), Joel Avin (Dana); grand nieces and nephews, Elsie, AnaLea, Michael, Jack, and Angelina. She was preceded in death by a brother, David Avin in 2017.

Services: At Lenore’s request, there will be no formal funeral service. A private celebration of her life will be held by her family at a later time. Arrangements are entrusted to JAMES FUNERAL HOME, 527 Center St., Bethlehem.

• When I die give what's left of me away to children and old men that wait to die.
• And if you need to cry, cry for your brother walking the street beside you. 
• And when you need me, put your arms around any one and give them what you need to give me.

• I want to leave you something, something better than words or sounds. 
• Look for me in the people I've known or loved, and if you cannot give me away, 
• at least let me live in your eyes and not in your mind.
• 
  
• You can love me best by letting hands touch hands and by letting go of children that need to be free.
• Love does not die, people do.
• So when all that's left of me is love, give me away.
