Queen Louise Washington Davis was born on December 16th 1924 in Grindstone PA. She was the eldest daughter of the late James A Washington & Martha Bell Nowlin Washington.
Louise attended school in Philadelphia PA and lived there for most of her life. She married and had two children Paul and Harvey. Paul preceded her in death in 2012. Louise was an independent hard working woman with multiple skills. She used her different skills in the various jobs she had. She was very close to her two sisters, Ladella Dee who preceded her in death in 2007 & Alma Ree. Between the three sisters there were six sons and they often did things together as a family.
In 1951 she was led to God thru the Lily of the Valley Bibleway Church. Here she repented of her sins, was baptized in Jesus name and received the gift of the Holy Ghost. While being an active worker for God she helped bring in many souls to be saved. Louise took pride in working for the Lord and spreading his word. She made sure she spoke the gospel to everyone even if they didn't want to hear it. Louise was a holy woman and wasn't afraid to let anyone know it.
In 1994 Louise was in a horrible accident which left her in a wheelchair. Doctors told her that she wouldn't be able to walk again. However she knew that her God was able to perform miracles and never gave up believing he would heal her. She went from riding in the wheelchair, to pushing it, to not needing it. All because she had faith in God and he healed her.
After the accident Louise moved to Shiloh Manor in Easton PA to be closer to her sister Alma. She lived there for about 6 years and then moved to Lutheran Manor in Bethlehem PA. At each location her neighbors knew her as the lady who talked about God. Louise was always encouraging the other residents and also prayed for them often. While in the Lehigh Valley area she brought several souls to God.
Louise had a strong personality and was well known for it. She didn't have a problem voicing her opinion and speaking her mind. She had a laugh and sense of humor that was one of a kind. She often would show love was by saying "let me smack you", family and friends knew that meant" let me kiss you". Louise was known for her quick and funny one line comments. If she was displeased with anyone she would tell them "I'll bite you tomorrow". Even though she sometimes could come off rough, she truly had a heart of gold.
Louise was truly one of a kind. We will all remember her laughter, her voice, her stories, her willpower, her strength, her faith and most of all her red turban! Louise was known by many names. Her sons called her mom, her sisters called her Lou, her nieces and nephews called her Aunt Louise, and her sister Alma called her Lou-wee-chie. We will miss her and all of her ways.
