Louise Alice Smith, 80, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2023 in Willowbrook Rehabilitation and Health Center, Kutztown. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph E. Smith Jr. Born in Nazareth, she was a daughter of the late Dallas and Miriam (Heckman) Ruch.Louise enjoyed working as a cashier for many years at Dollar Store, Bethlehem and Redner's Warehouse Market, Allentown, until retiring.Survivors: She is survived by her sisters, Anna Ruch of Phoenixville, Lorraine Miller (Late William Miller) of Kutztown; brother, Donald Ruch (Elaine) of Macungie; sister-in-law, Jean Ruch of Northampton; grandchildren, Cody Rohrbach of Bethlehem and Madison Rohrbach of Pottstown; stepdaughters, Carol A. McHale, JoAnn Yeakel, Juliann K. Smith and many extended family. She was also preceded in death by her son, David Rohrbach; brothers, Earl Ruch, Richard Ruch.Services: Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Wednesday, Sept. 6th from 10:00-10:30 AM in the JAMES FUNERAL HOME, 527 Center St., Bethlehem followed by a graveside service at 11:00 AM in Cedar Hill Memorial Park.Contributions: In lieu of Flowers, contributions may be made to the Center For Animal Health and Welfare c/o the funeral home.
