Mary Frances Burkey, 70, passed away suddenly and peacefully in her home on August 22, 2016. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert Burkey who died in 2006. Born in Shenandoah, Schuylkill County, she was a daughter of Mary (Powlick) Poliwacki of Lebanon and the late John Poliwacki. After graduating high school in Shenandoah, she attended Philadelphia General Hospital for nursing, which began her careen as an RN working many years at St. Luke's and then at Gracedale for over 20 years retiring as a supervisor. She was of the Catholic faith.

Survivors: She is survived by her sons,Robert Burkey, Michael Burkey and Patrick Burkey all of Bethlehem, brother, Michael Lushinski of Bethlehem, sisters, Janet Bretz and her husband Larry of Lebanon; Donna Yozwiak of Shenandoah; Bernadette Poliwacki of Lebanon and one grandson.

Services: Graveside services will take place on Saturday, August 27, 2016 At 11:00 a.m. in Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem. Procession to the grave will form beginning at 10:45 a.m. in the front of the Mausoleum. Arrangements are entrusted to JAMES FUNERAL HOME, Bethlehem.
