Obituary

Bernice O'Shea, of Bethlehem, formerly of Wayne, NJ, entered the gates of heaven on Saturday, November 19, 2016. She was 95 years and 10 months of age. Born Bernice Kasetia, on January 13, 1921, she was a daughter of immigrants from Lithuania and had three older sisters: Mary, Dommie, and Mal. They grew up in NYC and over the years moved to New Jersey.

Bernice married Charles O'Shea, son of immigrants from Ireland on April, 23, 1943. They had 4 children: Charles (who died shortly after being born), Dennis, Glenn, and Kim Maureen. After Bernice's husband, Charles, died in 1970, her children, as children are meant to do, went on to create their own lives.

In addition to being a wife and home manager for 3 children, Bernice held many business positions, including: Assembly worker during WW II; and several other positions as she followed her husband in the service. She also worked in a bakery briefly, as a Social Director in a Nursing home for 10 years and as a clerk at K-Mark for over 20 years. Bernice was extremely self-reliant, organized, and enjoyed the company of neighbors, her friends, and people she met shopping. In September 2015, she moved to an independent living facility in Bethlehem Pennsylvania to be closer to her son and daughter in law. She enjoyed the many facility activities, Sausage McMuffins, chocolate covered donut holes, shopping, and playing with her son's 4 puppies. Time on earth caught up with Bernice Saturday evening when entered eternal life to join her husband in heaven. She will be requiring heaven's menu to include Sausage McMuffins and chocolate covered donut holes. She was a former member of Our Lady of the Valley R. C. Church, Wayne, NJ.

Survivors: in addition to her children mentioned above are 3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Services: Graveside services will be scheduled in the Spring 2017, where Bernice's earthly remains will join her husband, Charles, at Christ The King Cemetery, Franklin Lakes, N.J.
