It is with heavy hearts that we note the passing of Philip Adam Martocci, 59, of Middleburg, Florida, on March 14, 2023. Beloved son, husband, father, brother, uncle, nephew and friend, Philip is mourned by his wife Julie and their children: Sam 25, Kimmie 24, and Jenn, 18. Also surviving him are his parents, Mary and Tony Martocci, of Bethlehem, sisters Laura, Natalie, Monica and Diana, a nephew and nieces.
Phil grew up in Bethlehem, and attended Assumption Blessed Virgin Mary elementary school (now St. Michael the Archangel), then went on to Saucon Valley Jr. and Sr. High School. There he played football (offense and defense), was involved in school plays, and became a passionate skier. He made good friends at SV, and many remained friends for life. Also, during these years, he followed his father into scouting, becoming an Eagle Scout in 1979. (Years later, his son Sam followed in his, and his grandfather's, footsteps).
After graduating, Phil went on to East Stroudsburg State College, where he majored in Information Technology, was president of his fraternity (Phi Sigma Kappa), and once again made life-long friends. After graduating he met and married Julie Steinbrecher, and made his way to Florida. Always a hard worker, Phil began a career that eventually led to setting up the computer technology behind ticketing for major attractions around the world.
He passed unexpectedly, suffering a hemorrhagic stroke while on a ski trip with friends in Nevada. The first thing friends and family say about Phil, when asked, is that he was a "fabulous," "wonderful," "supportive," "caring" father. He often took his children with him on work-related travels, exploring cities, cultures, and "opportunities for fun" that arose.
Phil had an easy-going, generous nature. An outdoor enthusiast, he developed a love of scuba diving and water sports, and was always on the go. He had a zest for life, 'rolled with it,' and touched all of us along the way.
