Richard J. Stange, 73, of Mt. Bethel, formerly of Bethlehem, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday evening, January 11, 2024 in Lehigh Valley Hospital- Muhlenberg. He was the beloved husband of Betty Jean (Samoge) Gunton Stange with whom he share 17 years of marriage. Born in Brooklyn New York, he served in the U. S. Navy and later worked as a machine operator for PolyOne Plastics for over 30 years retiring about 2012. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed fishing in lakes, streams and the ocean in his spare time.

Survivors: In addition to his wife, Betty Jean, he is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth "Holly" McLaughlin; son, Edward "Liam" McLaughlin; stepdaughter, Amy Anthony and her husband Ian and a sister, Mary.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. A Memorial service will be held in the spring. Arrangements entrusted to James Funeral Home, Bethlehem.
