Ruben Ortiz, 85, of South Allentown, passed away on Friday, July 17, 2026, at St. Luke's Hospital - Allentown Campus.  He was the beloved husband of Almidia (Fuentes) Ortiz with whom he shared over 35 years together.  Born in Orocovis, Puerto Rico, he was a son of the late Martin and Guillerma (Rodriguez) Gones. He was a painter for many years as well as many other jobs until retiring and was an active member and elder of Center House of Miracles in Hellertown.

Survivors: In addition to his wife, Almidia, he is survived by his children, Carlos Ortiz, Liz Ortiz and Henry Viera; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.  In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by 7 brothers and sisters.

Services: Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Thursday, July 23, 2026, from 11:00AM to 12 Noon followed by a funeral service at 12:00 Noon all at the JAMES FUNERAL HOME, 527 Center St., Bethlehem. Burial will be at Hellertown Union Cemetery.
