Obituary for Jeanne H Fleckenstein

Jeanne H. Fleckenstein, 89, of Bethlehem, PA, passed away peacefully at Moravian Village Health Center, on Tuesday, July 14, 2015. She was the beloved wife of William O. Fleckenstein, her high school sweetheart. They were married for 67 years. Born in Scranton, PA, she was a daughter of the late Lowell J. Swarts and Nora (Van Gordon) Swarts. Jeanne completed nurses training at Moses Taylor Hospital in Scranton,PA, which was affiliated with Cornell Medical Center in New York City. She received post graduate training in obstetrics at New York Hospital. Jeanne worked as a nurse in New York and at St. Luke's Hospital in Bethlehem. She was an active volunteer, an avid shell collector, and member of the First Presbyterian Church in Bethlehem.

Survivors: Jeanne will be lovingly remembered by her husband William; her daughter, Anne Pistell, and son-in-law David Kozak of New Haven CT; her son-in-law, Christopher Teasdale of Califon, NJ;her grandchildren, Brad Teasdale of Garrison, NY; Lauren Pistell of Syracuse, NY; and Colin Pistell of Boulder, CO; and her great grandchildren, Elijah McDonald and Eve McDonald of Syracuse, NY; and Ayla Teasdale and Ander Teasdale of Garrison, NY. Jeanne was preceded in death by her daughter Lynn Fleckenstein Teasdale.

Services: A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2015, at 11:00 A.M., in the Main Sanctuary of First Presbyterian Church, 2344 Center Street, Bethlehem. A luncheon will immediately follow the service where the family will greet friends. Arrangements are entrusted to the James Funeral Home, Bethlehem.
